HOW TO MAKE SHOTS  HURT LESS

Shots hurt and terrify little ones! Anyone who says they don't has not been around little ones much, and/or has forgotten what it is to be a little one.

       There are several things doctors and nurses can do to stop, or at least cut down on the pain. One method to make shots hurt less costs less than 50 cents a dose and takes only a couple of seconds, and the doctor may already have the method at his clinic and he or she may not even know it has recently been approved by the FDA and the AMA to use to lessen children's pain from shots. You can tell them and not only help your child, but all the others that doctor has as patients, not to mention making life easier for the doctors and nurses.

A few doctors and nurses are doing what is necessary to make shots painless, but incredible numbers are not. Many don't even know how to make shots hurt less. But it is quite likely your doctor has at least one method already available  and only needs to be informed the FDA and AMA have approved it to end children's injection pain.  The wisest thing to do, if your child's doctor and/or nurse does not use any of these, is to print them out and go armed with them when you take your child. Better yet, drop off the info ahead of time. Some of these methods have been around for years and have not been used.

  It would benefit the doctors and the nurses too. Medical personnel are often injured by terrified children fighting to avoid pain, and even when they aren't injured the struggles take up valuable time. And angry children grow up to be adults, and that anger towards the medical profession never really goes away. How many law suits against doctors have been started by unforgiving patients who first became angry and unforgiving, (subconsciously at least), as pierced and hurting children? Few people have Norman Rockwell feelings about their doctors anymore, and the huge number of injections kids are forced to endure is no doubt, a major reason.

   Come on folks! It is time to realize children's pain and terror are real. Its the 21st century! No excuses! It is time to end unnecessary pain!

    This is made more crucial by the fact medical science is coming up with more and more vaccines each day that schools are requiring for attendance. By the time a child is two he or she is supposed to have had over 20 vaccinations and many more come after the child is two. This doesn't even bring up blood tests and antibiotic shots. Plus if your child has diabetes, that may mean shots every day.
