Another Lidocaine hydrochloride drug, Zingo, has been approved by the FDA for kids aged 3 to 18 for IV insertions and blood draws. I doubt they would mind if, "kids" over 18 used it too. ;). They are evaluating it s use in adults. In the meantime, lie about your age! :o)
It's fast. It is a powder. It starts working in 1 to three minutes. It would take that long to hold some kids down! The most common side effect is redness and swelling at the application site. According to the article more than 18 million kids get punctured this way per year. Here is the link to the article.
